The struggle to have your lip colour last throughout the day is quite some challenge! However, a few hacks can help the colour last longer.
1 Exfoliate and Moisturize Your lips
Dry lips cannot hold a colour, within a few hours the colour comes off with the dead skin. Before applying a lip shade, scrub your lips with a toothbrush to remove dead skin. You can also apply some coconut oil or castor oil overnight to hydrate your lips. Always apply a layer of lip balm and leave it on for 15-20 minutes before applying lipstick.
2 Use a Liner to Prevent Smudging
A liner can work wonders to retain your lip colour. Outline your lips with a nude shade to give them a shape and then use any lipstick of your choice. This will prevent the colour from smudging.
3 Double up your Concealer as a Lip Primer
While you do not have to invest in a lip primer, a concealer can also do a good job. Dab some on the lips before you apply lipstick to get a monotone shade and make it last longer.
4 Set with Powder
Use a compact powder after applying the first coating of lipstick and then apply the second one. This will ensure that the colour does not transfer upon contact.
